The Sikkim Lepcha Youth Association Winter Coaching Class concluded today. The coaching takes a holistic approach nurturing students for their careers and board examinations. This year, 150 students attended the coaching classes.
SLYA provides students with free coaching and hostel facilities, and includes career counseling and motivational sessions.
The Winter Coaching Classes were held at the TNSSS Campus in Gangtok, starting on 21 Dec, 2024, and concluding on 29 Jan, 2025.
The closing ceremony included multiple cultural presentations in traditional attire, along with poetry recitations and an experience sharing program by both teachers and students.
During the ceremony, SLYA felicitated all the Winter Coaching Class teachers and staff members. Additionally, SLYA awarded the “Student of the Year” award to the two best students from the coaching classes: Kongchen Lepcha from Class XII and Lantshomit Lepcha from Class X.
The Minister of Social Welfare, Samdup Lepcha, graced the event as the chief guest, alongside Secretary of Higher Education, Tashi Chopel Lepcha, Founder of TKS, Tseten Lepcha, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Tenzing Loden Lepcha, Gangtok District and other dignitaries.
