Summit Report, Gangtok 12 Feb:
A mushroom cultivation training got underway at Pabong, under Namchi district, today. The three-day programme has been sponsored by ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management [NEH component] and is being organized by the Multi-Technology Testing Centre & Vocational Training Centre (MTTC & VTC) of the College of Horticulture, Bermiok.
The training is being taken by 25 farmers from the area.
The inauguration was chaired by Deep Tshering Tamang, Panchayat president Pabong. Prof Sekhar Bandhopadhya, Head of the Department of Plant Protection, Dr Y Rupert Anand, Head of MTTC & VTC, College of Horticulture, CAU Imphal Bermiok, Tara Prasad Sharma, CEO of FPO, Tokal Bermiok, Prem Chettri from Tokal Bermiok, and Anand Pradhan from Rumtek will be addressing the training as resource persons, a press release informs.
