Defending champions, Sikkim Police, emerged champions of the Sikkim Football Association ‘A’ Division Sikkim League for the second consecutive time today. The league ended at Paljor Stadium on Thursday.
Sikkim Police secured 36 points to finish the league on top and received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh along with the champions’ trophy and individual medals.
The league was organised by Sikkim Football Association, and had been underway since 05 September.
Sikkim Brotherhood Football Club stood second with 32 points and Sikkim Aakraman Sporting Club was on third position with 23 points.
Gangtok Himalayan Sporting Club finished the league in fourth position with 16 points, followed by Howlers Sporting Club, Singtam also with 16 points as was Sang Mustang Football Club.
Kumar Sporting Football Club and Sikkim Boys Football Club were at the bottom with 10 points each and have been relegated to the SFA Second Division S-League.
Sikkim Brotherhood FC goalkeeper Pranub Limboo won the Golden Gloves while his teammate Karma Thendup Bhutia received the Golden Boot. Howlers SC, Singtam received the Fair Play Award.
