Olympian shooter and Arjuna awardee, Joydeep Karmakar, is currently in Sikkim to lead a Shooting Workshop being organised by the Sikkim Rifle Association.
He arrived in Gangtok this evening and received a warm welcome from executive members of SRA led by president Sanjay Budathoki.
The workshop, a first for Sikkim, is scheduled to be held at Sidkeong Tulku Hall of Forest Department on Friday.
As per the association the event aims to promote the sport of shooting in Sikkim by offering hands-on training and expert insights from one of India’s most celebrated marksmen.
Mr Karmakar, a finalist at the 2012 London Olympics, will guide participants through advanced shooting techniques, precision skills, and mental strategies crucial for competitive shooting.
