Citizen Action Party-Sikkim has demanded a departmental inquiry into the death of Ram Kumari Rai at STNM Hospital, allegedly due to negligence.
A resident of Dojak, Rabongla, Ram Kumari Rai was admitted to STNM Hospital on 03 Feb for a gallbladder surgery, which was performed on 05 Feb. She did not regain consciousness after the operation.
CAP spokesperson, Mahesh Rai, while speaking to media persons today, contended that this was the only case of death at the hospital due to suspected negligence.
The party has demanded a thorough and transparent inquiry into the latest incident to reassure people that patients were priority at STNM Hospital.
An inquiry is already underway, and Mr Mahesh Rai assured that CAP will monitor the inquiry closely and continue speaking on behalf of the people.
