Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Sikkim, in collaboration with ATMA-Mangan District, organized Kisan Samman Samaroh and Technology Demonstration at the KVK campus on 24 Feb. Forest Minister Pintso Namgyal Lepcha was present as chief guest, accompanied by District Collector, Mangan, Anant Jain, as guest of honour and Additional Director, Agriculture Department, Field Crops, Pratap Subba, as special guest.
The event also included the distribution of farm machineries from Agriculture Engineering, Agriculture Department, inputs from Horticulture Department, Work Orders from Fisheries Department and ex-gratia to cattle owners for LSD from Animal Husbandry Department, a press release informs.
Best Farmer Awards were presented to Dawa Tshering Sherpa of Kabi for Piggery farming, Dawa Lhamu Lepcha of Ringhim for Mushroom Production, Samdup Lepcha of Nampatam for Vegetable Production and Pema Rapgey Lepcha of Salim Pakel for Sunflower Cultivation.
KVK also felicitated Tshering “Millet Man of Sikkim” Gyatso Lepcha for attending the Eminent Agriculturist Programme hosted by President of India on 26 Jan, and Dadup Lepcha of Ringhim for bagging the progressive farmer award, during the foundation Day of ICAR-ATARI Zone VI, on 14 Feb, 2025.
Live telecast of release of 19th instalment of PM KISAN by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Bhagalpur, Bihar was also featured to the gatherings at the end of the programme.
