SUMMIT REPORT, Gangtok 08 Jan: A delegation representing Laghu Udyog Bharati called on Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan this evening. A delegation included the former national president of LUB, Om Prakash Mittal, national secretary Praveen Agarwal, general secretary of the West Bengal unit, Vipin Singhal, and several other industry leaders, a press release informs.
Laghu Udyog Bharati, it is informed, is a national association dedicated to entrepreneurship and small-scale industries, and also aims to align with the state’s vision for sustainable development.
During the meeting, the Sikkim unit of Laghu Udyog Bharati was officially announced with Ashish Maurya as president and Rakesh Agarwal as general secretary.
Mr Mittal made a detailed presentation on the organization’s activities across the country, and informed the Governor that the Sikkim chapter was the 204th unit of the organization in the country.
The Governor, in his address, highlighted Sikkim’s enormous potential for industrial growth. He underscored the importance of the local chapter of Laghu Udyog Bharati engaging actively with local entrepreneurs to foster growth.
The Governor further urged the organization to leverage Sikkim’s abundant natural resources and explore the significant opportunities available in rural areas, which can be effectively realized through the efforts of Laghu Udyog Bharati. He also encouraged all to work jointly to contribute to making Sikkim more self-reliant.
Mr Mittal also introduced the newly appointed President, General Secretary, and Treasurer of the Sikkim chapter to the Governor.
