The Training Branch of Sikkim Police organized a three-day training program on Women’s Safety under the Nirbhaya Fund at the conference hall of Police Headquarters Gangtok.
The training was conducted from 25 to 27 February under the aegis of the Bureau of Police Research & Development [BPRD], Ministry of Home Affairs [MHA].
The program focused on addressing crimes against women and children and ensuring their safety. The main topics covered in the event included the POCSO Act 2012, Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 related to offenses against women and children.
28 police officers from police stations across the state took part in the training.
